Corian is unique in that it can be manipulated in a number of ways while most other materials are limited in how they can be worked. Corian can be cut, drilled, carved, sculpted, routed, bent, thermoformed - the possibilities are seemingly endless as new ways of creating Corian products are always being discovered. Corian takes the advantages from many other materials and rolls them into one. It has a rich, natural translucence like fine stone and is warm like fine wood. It is available in over 100 colours so you are bound to find the perfect look for your home.

Corian worktops are solid all the way through and do not need to be treated. They are hard to scratch, but if the surface is scratched it can be easily renewed since Corian is solid and uniform from surface to surface. Corian is also non-porous which makes it stain resistant as liquids will not penetrate and seep in, so spillages just need to be wiped away with a damp cloth. The non-porous surface also prevents the growth of mould, mildew and bacteria associated with some other worktops. Corian is also non-toxic and chemically non-reactive with virtually no off-gassing at normal room temperatures in accordance with building codes and other local restrictions.

Cleaning Corian is easier than most surfaces because Corian is very smooth so there is nowhere to trap worktops are thermo-sealed which means that they do not have the joins and visible edge seals that other materials have. Corian worktops do not get a build up in the corners and edging as their is nowhere for dirt to get trapped, meaning that your worktop looks newer for longer, this quality also prevents build up of bacteria.

Why Choose Corian®?

ANSWER: You have distinctive desires - and design considerations - for your home. You demand top-notch performance from every element of your new home or remodelling project. And that's where Corian truly shines. Its proven performance more than fulfils expectations, reflecting well on your choice - and on you - for years to come. Warm and Inviting - Your environment will be as distinctive and expressive as you want it to be when you use Corian, a material with many faces. It's always approachable, warm and inviting. Whether you use it as a central design element or as an accent, Corian adds both style and sensibility to every project.

Illuminating: The natural translucency of Corian allows it to contribute drama and definition to any installation. When backlit Corian glows! Surfaces become more luminous-lighter colours are warmer, softer; darker tones become richer, deeper. This quality translates to many applications, including interior and exterior lighting, inlaid fibre-optics, wall panels and other uses. Working with Corian is truly an illuminating experience.

Formable: The formability of Corian adds to its versatility. You can cut it. Carve it. Rout it. Drill it. Sculpt it. Bend it. Or work it like a fine wood. The ability of Corian to be thermoformed allows it to flow with both traditional and non-traditional designs. An ordinary sheet of Corian can be transformed into an art form...a dramatic curved stairway...a sculpted piece of furniture.

Compatible: You'll find that Corian "plays well with others." Friendly and approachable, it blends beautifully with whatever it's paired with. Corian is just as comfortable in a supporting role as it is taking centre stage-it can be as quiet or as bold as it needs to be.

Corian combines beautifully with chrome, stainless steel, wood, glass, brass and more. Whether you want to express simple minimalism, lush and dramatic sophistication, or cosy warmth, Corian is totally comfortable in its surroundings, complementing everything it touches.

Corian also works well alone, using combinations of the many colours of its palette. These combinations can create contrast. Define borders. Inlay textures. Layer colour on colour, tone on tone. The spectrum of possibilities is virtually endless.

Renewable: Nicks, Stains, Cuts, Scratches, while these can permanently mar most other surfaces, they won't compromise the appearance of Corian solid surfaces. That's because Corian can be restored to its original state, using an ordinary abrasive cleanser and a cleansing pad such as a green Scotch-Brite* pad

Consistent: Whether you cut Corian to form an edge treatment...or renew any part of its surface...the colour, texture and beauty you start with will remain constant over time. Because Corian solid surfaces are just that: solid all the way through. And they remain that way, through years of use.

Lasting Value: Your Corian installation will last a long, long time, postponing replacement and saving on tear-out costs. Because Corian is engineered to last, it's an investment that remains stable over time.

Much more than a countertop: Corian is just as appropriate for vertical applications as it is for horizontal surfaces.

Corian is built to withstand heats of up to 100 degrees centigrade (212 degrees Fahrenheit), which makes it resistant to many sources of heat. However, do not place hot pans from the hob onto a Corian worktop as this can damage it. To protect your Corian surface, always use a heat resistant pad or a trivet with rubber feet. If these simple steps are followed, your Corian worktop will retain its attractive appearance for years to come.
