    We (Unicom) have been trading on the internet since Nov 1997

    Yes all of Unicom's products and services are covered with full technical support.

    No problem! Orders can be cancelled in accordance with Unicom's terms and conditions

    Of course! You may want to speak to our staff who will ensure all runs smoothly.

    Yes
  8. What forms of payment do you accept?

    We accept credit or debit cards, or even cheque. Bear in mind that we need 5 working days for cheques to clear, before we can fulfil your order.

    Yes
  10. I was unable to complete my order on the website, what should I do?

    If this happens please call us during normal UK office hours or e-mail us. We'll help you to complete your order over the telephone.
  11. How far in advance can I place my order?

    As far as you like, payment may be required at time of order.
  12. Is there a minimum order?

    No, however there may be a delivery surcharge to cover transportation costs
  13. How will I know that my order has been received and processed?

    A confirmation email will be sent and, on most occasions, your delivery date will be advised.
  14. Can I track the progress of my order online?

    Where possible we may be able to provide you a tracking number
  15. Do you accept payment plans?

    Not at the moment
  16. Will you match the sale price of one of your competitors?

    Yes we will always aim to beat it, as long as it is a comparable quality.
  17. How do I place an order?

    Simple, just follow the online instruction and add to your shopping cart. Alternatively, call one of our sales agents on 0845 330 7642.
  18. I have never purchased anything online or over the phone, is it secure?

    Absolutely! Using our encrypted secure software makes buying from Unicom on-line even more secure than handing your card over in a restaurant.
  19. Do you accept credit cards through e-mail or fax?

    We would but would strongly advise against it, for you own security.
  20. Do you offer discounts if I order in quantity/bulk?

    If your orders were in bulk and consistent, we would be willing to discuss it
  21. Is paying by credit card safe?

    Payments that are placed on a credit card, give you total peace of mind. Any company who will not accept payment by credit card cannot guarantee delivery of goods. In general terms, if you pay 10% deposit to order something from a company and the company goes bust before delivery, you have no legal comeback, unless you have paid by credit card.

    How are you going to pay for the goods or service?

    It may be worth paying by credit card, especially if the goods or service you are buying is worth over £100 but no more than £30,000 and the credit limit on your card is no more than £25,000. The effect of using a credit card is that card issuer may be jointly liable with the supplier if you discover problems with goods or services purchased with the credit card. You may therefore wish to take the problem up with the credit card company. This may also help if you have purchased goods abroad. (If the goods prove to be faulty or are not delivered, for example, it is easier to claim against the credit card company in the UK than against the supplier through a foreign court.)

    If you have to pay a deposit, try and keep it as low as possible and check if it is refundable.

  22. How do I order?

    Simply select the relative wood type and sizes you require, click on "ADD TO SHOPPING CART" then click to "CHECKOUT". Here you can amend, delete or progress your order. This will automatically take you to our 28 bit secure online encrypted host for you to enter your delivery and payment details. A confirmation email detailing your order will immediately be sent to you followed by an emailing when relevant with delivery details.

    That's easy; we are a national company who fit throughout UK mainland.
  25. Where will you put the joints?

    We will endeavour to position them as unobtrusively as possible.
  26. Will you plumb in my sink/basin?

    No, you will have to see your plumber for that one.
  27. Will you connect my hob?

    No, you will have to see your electrician on this one
  28. Should I be present when the tops are installed?

    Yes please. At least at the end to approve them
  29. Can my wall/cupboard units be fitted in the meantime?

    No - we would advise leaving them until after your worktops have been fitted.
  30. Are you able to fit my sink/bowl into the worktop?

    That depends on the type of sink. Please contact us to discuss your requirement or discuss it at the templating stage. There are many variables that we must be aware of before we can give a definitive answer.
  31. How should a sink/bowl be fixed to the worktop?

    That depends on the type of sink or bowl and the type of worktop. In some cases they may be fixed by screwing into the worktop or preferably by mounting the sink in MDF.

    Yes, we will contact you and let you know when we are coming
  33. Should all fittings be on-site at the time of the templating?

    Yes! To clarify any queries that we may have and to endure all is going according to plan
  35. Delivery

  36. How long till I receive my order

    Most English deliveries can be with you within 3-5 working days. To Scotland, Wales and the Home Counties the average is 7 - 10 days. We usually deliver between 8am - 6pm.

    Conditions of delivery: An artic vehicle must be able to park within close and safe proximity to the delivery address and that 2 able-bodied helpers are available to assist the driver, who may be female, to offload. An average worktop will weigh from 70kg - 120kg. It is vital that you inform us in advance if this is not possible to arrange this so that another schedule can be put in place regarding vehicle size.
  37. Can I specify a delivery date?

    We will always try! As your order is shipped via a "fragile goods carrier" your preferred day may not tie in with their delivery circuit for your area. However, an alternate will be offered. Traffic conditions, on the day of delivery are unpredictable making it impossible for us to tell you whether your delivery will be am or pm. Although we are not in touch with the drivers, they are advised to call you in advance where possible. Sometimes, signal, network problems prevent this.

    Conditions of delivery are that an artic vehicle can park within close and safe proximity to the delivery address and that 2 able-bodied helpers are available to assist the driver who may be female to offload. Average worktop weights are from 70kg - 120kg we must be informed in advance if this is not possible so that other arrangements regarding vehicle size may be made.
  38. How do you pack your product?

    All products are packaged to ensure they arrive in good condition. If packaging has been damaged please inspect your goods carefully before accepting delivery.
  39. Can I request a specific delivery time?

    Yes, please see above.
  40. Do you deliver to Apartment Buildings?

    Yes, in most circumstances, however please let us know if you feel delivery may be difficult due to stairways etc.
  41. What should I do if my merchandise is damaged when it arrives?

    Refuse the order and state it clearly on the driver's delivery note and we will arrange a replacement.
  42. How long will it take before my product is shipped?

    Different products will have different shipping times. Our aim is to have your products with you within 3-5 working days if this is not possible we will advise you.
  43. Can I insure orders?

    There is no need! Most orders are insured in transit. Please see our terms and Conditions
  44. Do you deliver to post office box numbers?

    No
  45. Can you deliver to another address?

    The delivery form allows you to specify the delivery address as a second address to the credit card holder's actual address. This service is only possible, where the actual credit card holder has provided proof that the order is to be delivered to an address other than where the credit card statement is registered. Conditions of delivery are as specified above.

  47. What if goods arrived damaged?

    We make every effort to see that your order arrives in the exact quality checked condition it left the mill. Goods are carefully packaged and end capped and, when not on the mills own wagons, are transported via fragile goods specialists. Please thoroughly check your order on arrival as any damage is usually evident by the condition of the packaging. You are under no obligation to accept damaged goods. Simply sign the drivers docket "Goods damaged - not received" and they will be returned. A replacement will be sent to you as soon as possible.

    High volume orders placed with our manufacturer allows for high discounts to the client, smaller margins to the company.

    Unicom's discounts do not compromise quality in any way! We buy the best in bulk and pass the savings on to our customers. The resultant higher turnover justifies this approach and everybody wins!

    Just email or call with the details of the product you want, sink or tap.

  54. Can you provide a quotation over the phone?

    The quickest way to get a quote is to use our online calculator which will give you an instant no-obligation price. If you experience any difficulties with our online system you are welcome to send us a simple plan/diagram stating your worktop requirements by fax, email or post. This will limit any misunderstanding or confusion which may occur from verbal details given over the phone. It is very difficult for us to provide an accurate quote from a phone conversation and we will usually need to take contact details and come back to you once the quote has been processed. Phone quote requests may be subject to a 24hr turnaround time during busy periods and you may be required to confirm details by sending us your plan.
  55. How accurate is the online estimate?

    The price will be as accurate as the information you give us when you enter your details into the calculator. We will check it on receipt and contact you to make sure.
  56. On your online quote I don't see a plan that matches my kitchen layout

    The outlines are only there as a guide. It will not influence your price at all. Just click any outline to get your quote started.
