Oak Kitchen WorktopsOak is the classic for durability and traditional elegance. It is strong, tough and has very attractive grain markings. Oak was once used extensively for shipbuilding and panelling in prestigious buildings, but is now more widely used for furniture making, worktops and flooring.

Oak is famous as a slow growing tree and also for the size that it can reach. Of course, it is also famous for its use in barrelling wines and whiskeys, with each type of oak contributing to the colour aroma and taste of the liquid being stored inside.

Interesting fact: The Mary Rose, built in the 15th Century, had its hull almost entirely made from English oak. As a result, it was able to survive over 400 hundred years under the sea until it was hauled up to be put in a museum in Portsmouth, where it can be seen today.

Note :600mm deep wood ie 3m x 600 x 40 - This size is not recommended for kitchen worktops

We only sell wood that comes from sustainable sources and well managed mills
