Types of Hardwood
A Hardwood kitchen worktop in the kitchen remains the height of kitchen design fashion. The Butcher block look of old has never gone away but remains a highly recommended choice for a durable, waterproof and attractive finish that adds both elegance and warmth like almost no other work surface. Dark wood worktops like Iroko, Walnut or Mahogany can make a stunning contrast to light coloured cabinets. Alternatively, light woods like Beech or Bamboo can put the finishing touch to dark cabinets. Whilst Medium coloured hardwoods like European Walnut, solid Oak and Cherry worktops go with anything; your imagination is the only limit. Mixing hardwood with brushed metal or granite can add a strong visual dynamic to even the most hi-tech of kitchen designs.
