We can provide Luxore Quartz samples at a cost of GBP 10.00 per sample. We will refund the cost of one sample when you buy Quartz kitchen worktops. Samples of Luxore are to be considered as general guidelines only as grain size, uniformity, colour or veining of the material may vary
  2. What is the thickness of Luxore Quartz worktops?

    >Luxore Quartz Worktops are 30mm. Window cills, upstands and cladding are 20mm.
  3. What is the maximum length of a single piece of Luxore Quartz worktop?

The maximum blank length of a Luxore Quartz Worktop is 3000mm. However, this can be shorter in some cases dependant upon type and thickness and if the worktop includes a sink or hob cut out the maximum length is reduced to approximately 2000mm. Exact positions of joints will be confirmed at template stage.
  4. What is the maximum length of a single piece of Luxore Quartz upstand?

The maximum length of a single piece of Luxore Quartz upstand is 1300mm.
  5. Are Luxore Quartz worktops solid or do they have an MDF/chipboard core?

Luxore Quartz worktops are 30mm solid 'engineered stone' quartz.
  6. Do Luxore Quartz worktops come with any warranty or guarantee?

Yes, our Luxore Quartz worktops are covered by a 12 month statutory guarantee.
  7. Could I add to my worktops later?

Yes although we cannot guarantee precise colour matching.
  8. Can a worktop be repaired if damaged?

Usually, yes both chips and scratches. If you have a problem, give us a call.
  9. Will my Quartz worktop require additional support?

If your kitchen base unit carcases are low density they may require additional support to hold the weight of our quartz worktops. Please check with your kitchen fitter. The maximum unsupported overhang for breakfast bars and island worktops is 300mm.
  10. Is it advisable to cut directly on Quartz?

No, it is recommended that you use a cutting board, to maintain the exquisite look of the worktops. Even though Quartz is very durable, strong and scratch resistant, it is not scratch proof, therefore we would not advise you use your worktops in this way. Small scratches less than 25mm in length are considered within tolerance by the manufacturer and are acceptable.
  11. Is it safe to place hot utensils on the Quartz worktop?

Quartz is heat resistant ... however, avoid placing hot pans, pots and dishes directly on the Quartz kitchen worktop. Instead, place them on a pot stand to maintain the natural beauty of your worktops.
  12. What is the minimum quartz there can be around a sink cutout?

The minimum width of quartz around a sink cutout is 60mm.
  13. Are Quartz joints seamless like Corian?

No, joints in quartz worktops are finished with a small ariss to the top edges of the adjoining worktops. Silicone sealant is then applied to prevent liquid penetration of the joint.
  14. What is involved in cleaning and maintaining my Quartz worktop?

Once you buy Quartz kitchen worktops, it is important to regularly clean your product with a slightly wet cloth. After that, dry it off or dull patches may appear as soap and water residues may collect on the surface. While casual exposure to alkaline materials will not damage your quartz worktop, highly alkaline (high-PH) cleansers are not recommended when cleaning. Do not use a rough scrub or scour pads to clean the surface. Try using a spray cleaner as it will help to maintain the glossy surface.
  15. What is the best height for upstands in Quartz?

Upstands should ideally be 100mm high, as material less than this height is extremely fragile. The minimum height is 60mm. Upstands are not cut from the same slab as the work surfaces, therefore an exact colour match is not guaranteed.
  16. Can you provide a quotation over the phone?

The quickest way to get a quote is to use our online calculator which will give you an instant no-obligation price. If you experience any difficulties with our online system you are welcome to send us a simple plan/diagram stating your worktop requirements by fax, email or post. This will limit any misunderstanding or confusion which may occur from verbal details given over the phone. It is very difficult for us to provide an accurate quote from a phone conversation and we will usually need to take contact details and come back to you once the quote has been processed. Phone quote requests may be subject to a 24hr turnaround time during busy periods and you may be required to confirm details by sending us your plan.
  17. What can I expect from the colour, shape and pattern of the stone in my Quartz worktops?

Since Quartz worktops are manufactured from up to 93% natural quartz, variations in the colour, size, shape and pattern of the stone may occur and unique characteristics are to be expected with this product. We think that\'s part of the appeal!
  18. Do you have Quartz worktop prices per metre?

Our system calculates prices using a number of variables, not just a simple price per metre. Width and thickness of worktop play a part as does the choice of colour. Also, our discount is not applied until the end of the quotation process. We are therefore unable to provide accurate per metre prices. We recommend use of our online quote calculator or you can send us your plan/specification by email or fax.
  19. What elements can stain Quartz?

Avoid using ink and permanent markers near the surface as these can cause stains. Once a stain occurs, follow the guidelines mentioned in the Care and Maintenance book. This booklet comes along with your product purchase.
  20. What elements can cause harm to Quartz?

The following elements can cause harm to Quartz: Ink, permanent markers, bleach, oil soaps and nail polish remover.
  21. Is paying by credit card safe?

Please see the following article copied from a UK Consumer Protection site:

"How are you going to pay for the goods or service?

It may be worth paying by credit card, especially if the goods or service you are buying is worth over £100 but no more than £30,000 and the credit limit on your card is no more than £25,000. The effect of using a credit card is that card issuer may be jointly liable with the supplier if you discover problems with goods or services purchased with the credit card. You may therefore wish to take the problem up with the credit card company. This may also help if you have purchased goods abroad. (If the goods prove to be faulty or are not delivered, for example, it is easier to claim against the credit card company in the UK than against the supplier through a foreign court.)

For further information, refer to the fact sheet Your rights - bought on credit?

If you have to pay a deposit, try and keep it as low as possible and check if it is refundable.

Remember that the goods or services may come with a guarantee or warranty.
