Technical Information

• If Quicktops® Solid Surface worktops are captive between 2 walls allow 3mm gap for expansion (1mm/mtr).
• Maximum unsupported overhang 300mm.
• Worktops to be supported every 600mm in a linear run.
• There must be at least 50mm gap between electric hob and upstand, 100mm if the hob is gas.
• Cut outs must be at least 50mm from the front and back edges.
• There must be at least 130mm between cut outs.
• Complete any plastering or tiling after worktop installation.
• Use chopping boards when preparing or chopping food.
• Quicktops® Solid Surface worktops are stain resistant however, it is best to deal with spills as soon as they occur.
• The surface of Quicktops® Solid Surface worktops is repairable - follow the instructions in the care leaflet.
• DO NOT place hot pans on the work surface, always use a trivet or pan rests.
• To avoid the risk of thermal shock cracking the worktops use aluminium thermal insulation tape around hob cut outs.
• Where an appliance such as a dishwasher or cooker is located beneath the worktop, use an aluminium foil membrane on the underside of the worktop to deflect heat and moisture.
• Dark, heavily pigmented colours will show scratches, dust and ordinary wear and tear more readily than light or textured colours and should not be used for areas of heavy use such as kitchens.
• Apollo® Quicktops® Solid Surface is tested to BS6222: Part 3 1999 durability of finish for worktops by FIRA.
